Appreciate the other reviewers who helped me make the decision to finally install this IC in my 10 Year Old Explorer Platinum. I was having the front end pieces re-painted, so this was a great time to take everything apart and complete this install. As others have noted, you really do have to cut out a lot of the radiator support to fit this in. I used an oscillating multi-tool which made quick work of the cutting. One thing I did notice is the inlet side tube is not angled downwards, so it puts a lot of pressure on the existing hoses. This ended up causing a leak in my lower IC pipe. So make sure to check all your connections after install. Like others have stated, this unit is much larger and keeps the IAC temps well managed which helps ensure you get the most out of your tune.

Only ended up doing this mod to my 2016 ford explorer platinum because I hit a deer and I would be taking everything apart anyways… before I bought this product people in the reviews had said try and do one cut to save time, it felt like I had to cut way more of the radiator support shroud than other people.1st problem in encountered was when trying to fit the intercooler (already a snug fit) the bottom of it was hitting my ac condenser/transmission cooler, has to egg out some holes to drop it down about a half inch for the intercooler to fit and have some wiggle room(in photos). 2nd problem I encountered was that the tubes off the intercooler wouldn’t want to fit around my radiator(stock aftermarket radiator) had to trim some of the excess on the end tanks(9th pic, didn’t take photo, cut trimmed little bit off the c clip where a bolt goes through and some of the support) after doing all of that I was finally able to fit it around the radiator, definitely wouldn’t have hurt to have the intercooler tubes specifically the passenger side port could be moved spaced over 5mm so I wouldn’t have had to do trimming to the radiator. 3rd problem was after I had done all the trimming and had the intercooler all mounted in I went to put my horn back on and well they didn’t fit right,(in photos) ended up cutting the mount and drilling a hole to have it sit in the right spot.

Other than those few hiccups and I figured there would be some, I am extremely impressed with the performance…

I got the intercooler installed. Slight modifications done but all worked great!

This intercooler is a nice addition to my 13 sport.. Im getting ready to upgrade turbos and other things. I figured a intercooler was in store.. At half the price of other coolers, and watching it actually work on my sct tuner. I can see the temps drop soon as i get into boost.. easily drops 10* on just trying to speed up, let alone making a pull.. this cooler has to be at least 50% larger.. plus the efficiency its a win all around! pretty impressive from the size.

Great build quality, would definitely recommend. Very Noticeable difference on the top end and power stays on after driving around a while which obviously means less heat soak. Like someone else mentioned don’t be shy trimming the radiator support or you’ll be messing with it much longer than necessary.
